The Report‘s director and writer, Scott Z. Burns, and the real inspiration for the film, Daniel J. Jones will joins FOLCS on stage for a conversation following the screening.
The Report is a gripping and sometimes infuriating look at the investigation into the CIA’s interrogation methods post-9/11, led by Senate staffer Daniel J. Jones. A smart, taut drama that evokes films like Spotlight and All the President’s Men, it is incredibly relevant and features political players who are still working in this administration. Directed and written by Scott Z. Burns (a frequent Soderbergh collaborator), the film stars Adam Driver and Annette Bening alongside a stellar ensemble, including Jon Hamm, Michael C. Hall, Tim Blake Nelson, and Maura Tierney. The film has been lauded on the festival circuit, including Sundance and the Toronto International Film Festival.
